Yoga is a holistic journey that integrates the mind and body. It is a spiritual process that involves being present and open to new experiences. It is a practice that fosters both self-awareness and self-acceptance over perfectionism. It is an intentional process of healing that is self-empowered.
My journey into yoga began initially as a means of getting in shape and balancing the stress in my life, however, it has become much more than that. It has become a lifestyle. I began seeing the value of yoga as a means of letting go after the loss of a friend of mine to cancer. After the funeral, a friend of mine held a yoga class in memorial. The intention given to the theme, flow of postures, and hands on assists transformed my physical practice to a deeper emotional level. As a psychotherapist I am consistently asked to be present and empathic despite whatever challenges I am faced with in my personal life. Through yoga, I found a means of fostering self-care. I was able to pass this practice on to my father as he fought Lymphoma with the support of the yoga community and adapted classes for cancer patients. I strongly believe that the strength my father cultivated through his yoga practice and the support of loved ones helped springboard his recovery. As I continue to practice I hope to share my passion for yoga to empower others toward mental and physical health.
I believe that yoga is a beneficial and unique practice for people of all ages and body types. Physical benefits of yoga include:
Increased flexibility
Enhanced strength
Improved posture
Increased Balance
Better concentration
Stress management
Increased bone density
I encourage you to contact me today and experience for yourself the benefits of a professionally licensed and insured yoga instructor.
